Description

The “lower Winni” flows 1.2 miles from Cross Mill Road to Trestle View Park/Mill City Park in Franklin. This section is for advanced paddlers and is rated class III/IV depending on the flow level. Anything lower than 450 CFS and you will be hitting and scrapping lots of rocks. Medium flow is around 1,00 CFS. At 2,000 CFS it is class IV with a strong and pushy current. Great descriptions of the rapids are available at American White Water, or Milly City Park. Mill City White Water park consists of 3 wave features. Two are adjacent to Trestle View Park. Put in access is at the Roger and Gloria Blais Riverview Conservation area on Cross Mill Road in Franklin. Take out is at Trestle View Park in Franklin. The Mill City Park is on river right during the last drop into Franklin. Annual events include a New Year’s Day paddle and Winni River Days in June.
