Spaulding Woods Trails and Boat Launch
Description
Spaulding Woods in Northfield, NH, features a network of 18+ mountain bike trails, ranging from easy green to blue, offering hiking, running, XC singletrack, fat biking, and snowshoeing. Maintained by Central NH NEMBA and Spaulding Academy and Family Services, the trails begin at the DOT Boat Ramp (Junction of
Shaker Road Northfield and Rt 140). While there are a few flat trails lower down near/along the Winnipesaukee River, most trails climb uphill (elevation gains of 245 feet) toward the Spaulding Academy campus. Trails link together to make nice combinations of steady climbing and flowy downhills. The two most challenging trails Loam Depot and Jackalope are on the far sides of the trail network. Trails are groomed in winter for fat biking. During the past few years, Spaulding Woods has hosted a 50k running race. Please be respectful of Spaulding Academy and Family Services and do not enter the campus area, or if encountering student groups please respect their privacy.
