Veterans Memorial Recreation Area / Great Gains Memorial Forest

The Franklin Outing Club operates the Veterans Memorial Recreation Area (“The Vets”) on City Conservation Land within the Great Gains Memorial Forest. The ski area has a 1953 vintage T-Bar, a Rope-Tow, and a nice lodge that is open when the ski area is open and on Thursday evenings during the biking season. Downhill and cross-country mountain biking are featured here in close partnership with the N.E. Mountain Bike Association (NEMBA). We also have a 9-hole disc golf course and all trails (except the downhill MTB trails) are open to the public.
